Duke of Edinburgh
Some pupils in the senior phase of the school work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award. They undertake a wide range of challenging tasks to fulfill the areas of the award: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition.
About the Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award was founded by The Duke
of Edinburgh, HRH Prince Philip, in 1956 and has since gone on to become
the widest reaching youth charity in the UK with 275,000 young people,
of all backgrounds, undertaking an award programme every year. The
charity is dedicated to the personal development of young people and
strives to encourage confidence, responsibility and teamwork.
In the past groups have volunteered at Gorgie City Farm, helping with gardening and caring for the animals there. Click HERE to see how the group helped out at Gorgie City Farm.
